About me

Hi! My name is Linda Schueler and I love reading and writing children’s stories.

I have written many cultural and educational articles for the magazines “21st Century”, “Metropolis”, “Beijing Review”, and “City Weekend”. In 2006 I coauthored a series of five books on English-Chinese communication called “How to Communicate Effectively with Native English Speakers”. In 2011 I had my short story “Rainbow” printed in “Inkspots: A Collection of New Canadian Short Stories”.

Join me as I write about my favourite children’s books and about my journey as a children’s writer. Let’s learn from each other and have fun along the way.

I am an Amazon associate, which means if you click on a picture or a link (highlighted in blue) on my website that leads to their website and then buy something from there, I’ll get a little bit of money.

I’d love to make money just by writing this blog, but so far that has not happened. All the book reviews I make are about books that I find are really meaningful or very useful. The reviews come from my heart.

  1. Hi, My name is Sabiha and I’m live and work in UK England. I have wrote children book but I do not know how to get it published and how to find a publisher and so on if you can help me that would be greatly appreciated

    Regards Sabiha

    • Hi Sabiha,

Click on my new page called “Publishers Accepting Unsolicited Manuscripts”. That will give you a start.
      Good luck.

  2. Hi Linda,
I have written several children’s books and sent them off. The process was time consuming and uneventful. I was told to try going to a writer’s retreat like the one in Big Sur, CA to meet with an Agent. What are your thoughts on that?
    Thank you,

    • Kathy, I went to my first writer’s conference last year, and it’s so far the best thing I have done for my writer’s career. I met an editor whom I normally would not have, and it’s so far the best chance I have had to have a book published.
